GP practices across Scotland are currently struggling under significant financial pressures due to a lack of funding from government and increasing demand for services. In order to remain open practices are having to save money wherever possible and that impacts on what services practices can provide to patients.
This is an awful situation for patients and GP's alike and one with a very complicated background. Practices in Lothian are represented by the Lothian Local medical committee (LMC) who have written a helpful summary of the situation and we would be very grateful if you could take the time to read it.
